The programme starts in January and will run to March with a two week break for mid term.

The Wee Smashers programme lasts for up to eight weeks. After that, your club can decide to continue offering a coaching programme for the juniors.

The programme is designed for 9 to 12 year olds. Your club club can include juniors outwith these ages if you feel this is manageable for your coach.

Yes. The deadline for clubs to register is Friday 16th October 2026. After that we will be in touch to confirm details.

The programme will launch for bookings in early November and parents will be guided to this website and select a club of their choice. After the application closing date, we will provide the club with all the necessary information.

We will provide you with equipment, payment for a coach and a lesson plan for the coach. The club will need to organise courts, engage with the coach and parents to ensure the smooth running of the sessions. Provide feedback upon completion of the course.

The lead coach needs to be minimum of a level 1 coach and on the Scottish Squash Coach Licence.

We will transfer funds to the club to pay for the 8 week programme. If your club is not in a position to pay a coach, we will arrange to pay the coach directly.

Yes, after the programme finishes, the club can keep the equipment to be used for future junior coaching sessions.

Clubs are encouraged to provide a pathway into their ongoing junior programme following the eight-week programme. Scottish Squash will provide support and resources to help this transition, in a non financial capacity.

Should a participant drop out prior to the course getting underway, Scottish Squash will maintain a waiting list and the place will be offered to the first person on this list.
