Smashing fun for Scotland’s youngest players
Wee Smashers is a brand-new free squash programme for 9 to 12 year olds, bringing junior coaching to up to 40 clubs across Scotland.
Wee Smashers is a brand-new free squash programme for 9 to 12 year olds, bringing junior coaching to up to 40 clubs across Scotland.
Running from January to March 2027, each club will deliver two classes of eight juniors, with one hour of coaching a week over 8 weeks (including a two-week break for the school mid-term). Every session is led by a qualified coach following a structured lesson plan, so juniors build their skills and confidence week by week.
It's completely free to take part. Each participating club receives full equipment (10 rackets, glasses and balls), plus funding to cover coaching costs, so all you need to do is organise court time and welcome your new juniors.
Junior participants collect a sticker each week for their Wee Smashers passport, and receive a certificate to mark their achievement at the end of the programme.
Clubs that participate in the programme will receive:
Equipment - 10 x junior rackets, glasses and balls
Payment for a coach for 2 sessions per week for 8 weeks
Support with marketing the programme to participants
Lesson plans, passports and certificates for participants

Parents: The programme will launch for bookings in early November. Parents will be guided to this website and select a club of their choice. Once the class is full, we will provide the club with all the necessary information.
